Jaipur: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Saturday launched “Operation Clean Sweep” in the Walled City at midnight, with the drive continuing till 5 am. Cleaning operations were carried out across main roads, markets and narrow lanes of the heritage area.According to JMC, around 2,000 sanitation workers participated in the campaign. The walled city was divided into 36 beats, where separate teams carried out cleaning and waste collection work.JMC commissioner Om Kasera and Jaipur collector Sandesh Nayak also visited different areas during the night to review the arrangements.“This kind of night-time campaign helps improve the city’s sanitation system and also increases public participation,” said Nayak. “Maintaining cleanliness in the heritage area is a collective responsibility, and the administration will continue working in this direction.”“The corporation is working with full commitment to implement the chief minister’s vision of a clean, organised and better Jaipur. Operation Clean Sweep is not just a campaign, but an effort to improve the city’s overall cleanliness and management,” added Kasera.Tea and refreshments were arranged for sanitation workers throughout the night.
